What is a PTFA?

Parent, Teachers & Friends Association. Put simply, its a connection to promote positive links between home and school.

Schools are facing ever increasing funding cuts and the PTFA exists to raise money to bridge this gap and enhance the opportunities for our children. We also aim to promote a sense of community, whilst putting on fun and entertaining events for parents, teachers and friends.

What do we do?

We run events throughout the year to raise funds for the school. These include Christmas & Summer fayres, quiz nights, bingo, 'philthebag' and in July 2018 we hosted our first ever Calcot Colour Run! The money raised goes straight to school who are able to fund areas their budget doesnt reach.

We also talk to local businesses about how they can help including match funding which is a key source of income. The PTFA has a team of bid writers who approach large corporates regarding their community schemes.
