What is a PTFA?

Parent, Teachers & Friends Association. Put simply, its a connection to promote positive links between home and school.

Schools are facing ever increasing funding cuts and the PTFA exists to raise money to bridge this gap and enhance the opportunities for our children. We also aim to promote a sense of community, whilst putting on fun and entertaining events for parents, teachers and friends.

What do we do?

Calcot Schools PTFA is a committed group of volunteers who are passionate about enriching the education of the children who not only attend Calcot now, but for the young people passing through for years to come.

By raising funds and working with the school we can make sure that funding reaches the greatest number. We do this by holding events, these raise funds but also provide opportunities. Our events give the young people time to socialise which is important for communication, well-being and relationship building. It also gives them a chance to be part of the wider community practicing skills such as money management, organisation, time keeping as well as multiple life skills.

Our events have included sponsored colour runs, Smarties challenge, fayres, quiz nights, bingo, clothes recycling, school lottery, easy fundraising and personalised merchandise.

Our team doesn’t stop there, we are always on the lookout for match funders, volunteers, supporting parents, grants and companies who have academic schemes.
